Career Transitions
Sometimes we find ourselves on a professional path that isn’t fulfilling for multiple reasons.. Finding time to figure out “why” and then changing the “status quo” is mentally draining, emotionally taxing, and often brings up more questions than answers. Many of my clients are type-A, have perfectionistic-tendencies and a strong drive to succeed. Sometimes, however, these traits hinder professional advancement instead of supporting it. My job is to help you figure out what is and isn’t working and help you harness your strengths to be successful. Sometimes this means, looking at personal/professional balance. Other times, this means understanding/managing anxiety/depressive feelings so they don’t shut you down. Often clients need to block out the voices of parents, friends, supervisors or significant others to connect to what you want instead of what you are ‘suppose’ to want.
My experience as an attorney gives me a great understanding of those who face daily pressures in challenging work environments. I help my clients manage feelings of stress, anxiety and tension related to their careers. I also work with clients contemplating a change in career and can help sort through feelings of unhappiness and unfulfillment. Therapy can help you determine what you want out of life, what changes you want to make and what personal barriers might be in the way.
